Dr. Maulina Pia Wulandari
Senior Lecturer Maulina Pia Wulandari is the academic staff and researcher for the Department of Communication Science in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She also works as the Director of Planning and Collaboration and a Consultant in Public Relations and Strategic Communication for UB Experts, which is the business entity of University Brawijaya. She obtained a Ph.D. in Employee Relations in 2012 from the University of Newcastle, Australia. Prior to commencing in her current role at the University of Brawijaya in 2003, Maulina was a PR consultant at an Indonesian PR agency in Jakarta. From 2012 until now, she has been appointed as Conjoint Senior Lecturer in Communication for School of Creative Industry at the University of Newcastle. She has been actively involved in academic activities such as delivering guest lectures for several public relations courses such as Introduction of Public Relations, Advance of Public Relations, and Public Relations Campaign. She also has been managing the joint research with Dr. Deborah Wise (University of Newcastle) in analyzing teaching Multiculturalism toward Australian and Indonesian students. Her research interests are in the area of organizational communication, public relations, strategic communication, crisis communication, conflict and negotiation, and community engagement. She applies ranges of research methods such as communication audits, public relations audits, quantitative research methods, qualitative research methods, and mixed methods. She is open to supervising diverse research topics in the field of communication such as marketing communication, interpersonal communication, cross-cultural communication, and other communication studies. From 2015 – 2018 she won awards as the Best Lecturer in the Department of Communication Science based on Student Feedback Survey five times consecutively. She got US$65,000 from Exxon Mobil Cepu Limited to manage an evaluation research project from 2017 – 2019. Maulina’s expertise in communication and public relations leads her to become a speaker in many events of meetings, training, workshops, and seminars at the level of national and international. Her critical academic thoughts have been referred to by many mass media and online media in Indonesia.
